About Us
Self Care Connect is a pioneering and dynamic resource and networking organisation that aims to be a key driver for self care. It provides fast access to information and resources on self care including key developments, policy drivers, up-to-date news and also provides an area where views and experiences can be exchanged. Resources and materials can be uploaded onto the site by you the user to ensure the information and resources provided on this site are relevant and timely.
The site is run by the Expert Patients Programme Community Interest Company (EPP CIC). Self care can play an important role in preventing and managing a long-term condition, so the site complements EPP CIC’s self-management courses and the support the company provides to people living with long-term conditions.
Self Care Connect was originally developed by the Working in Partnership Programme (WiPP) – a programme established as part of the GMS contract arrangements in 2005. Self care represented one of the key work areas for WiPP who developed the site and produced the Self Care for You and Self Care for Primary Care resources. WiPP’s three year programme concluded in June 2008 and EPP CIC took on responsibility for running the site and promoting self care.
