In this month's edition...

This month we take a look back at our commissioning self care workshops and how we've improved the site making it easier for you to use.

Commissioning Self Care
Over 200 people have attended the Self Care Connect Workshops: World Class Commissioning for self care to improve health and well being held in locations across England.

The workshops have focused on the importance of self care and have addressed self care issues that affect local populations with commissioners, service providers and public health professionals all actively taking a role in discussions.

It is clear that this sort of workshop - looking at the impact that self care can have on addressing local health needs - is valued and more workshops are needed in the area.

Many participants have left the workshops ready to develop a self care strategy for their organisation whether they work as a service provider or commissioner.

We've had some excellent feedback from the workshops...

"This is the first time I've heard a presentation on commissioning that was fun and easy to understand"

"Fantastic examples of self care models as well as the strategic approach"

See what these delegates are talking about by downloading our workshop presentation here.

If you want to catch up on what you've missed keep your eye on the site for reports from each of the workshops which will be available here.

Self Care Connect even easier to navigate

With so much information on self care we know it can be hard to find what you are looking for. That's why we've been working hard to make Self Care Connect even more user friendly!

Each entry on the site now has a clear title, short description of the resource and a link to take you straight to that resource - making it quicker and easier to get the information you need.

If you know what you are looking for or the sort of activity you'd like to find out about then use our advanced search function to search for key words.

And you can still search for materials, case studies and links under our four 'pillars' of self care: Skills Training; Information; Tools & Devices; and Support Networks.

Remember, if you can't see your resource or self care activity mentioned on the site let us know and we'll add it on. You can upload your own materials here.
