The Many Benefits of Exercising

Exercise is known to be a great way for us to shape up, lose weight and get fit.  There are lots of benefits to performing different styles of exercise.  Let’s take a look at some of the many good things exercise can do!

Exercise can help us to be happier – did you know that exercise causes our body to release hormones called endorphins? These are little hormones which make us feel happy and bring a sense of wellbeing.  The same endorphins are released when we hug our friends or even when we eat things we love like chocolate!

By increasing our fitness levels, we are likely to feel much better day to day.  Exercise is a great way to strengthen muscles, increase our body’s capacity for movement as well as helping our organs to stay well.

Exercise can be a good way to meet new people and form friendships.  Team sports such as football and rugby are an obvious choice, however think of all the other groups you could join!  Running, squash, horseriding and even swimming can get you into new friendship groups with a shared passion.
